Aileen Secord Photography

This past weekend, my new friend Aileen, photographed her first wedding as a second shooter. Check out her Photography blog here. Not only is Aileen a new friend. She is such a sweet person, talented, easy going and simply fun to be around.

Aileen, also graciously offered to shoot a few boudoir photos for me. Thus, we met up last Sunday bright and early to shoot my boudoir photography session. I must admit it, I was a bit nervous, especially since we were shooting outdoors. Thankfully, Aileen brought her hubby along, who scouted out locations for us and stood watch to let us know if there were any hikers near by. Here's a sneak peak. I've been so busy lately that I haven't had the time to sit down and blog. Today though, I decided it was about time to catch up on things.

Where to start?! Oh yes, I finally have my voice back!!!For about 1 1/2 weeks I didn't have a voice. Of course, attending a wedding in Vegas didn't help either. However, I was the Maid of Honor therefore I had to attend. Not only that, I didn't want to be one of those people, who RSVP'd, then deciding last minute of not showing up. The wedding was lots of fun since I got to spend some time with my bff's from college, and we got to see an old college roommate, who we hadn't seen in 7 years. Here are some pictures. Let me know what you think. I was playing around with my photoshop. By the way, the originals are always on top.

Prior to attending the wedding in Las Vegas, I had some old High School friends, from overseas , visit me as well. It was their first visit to the USA. Unfortuntaly, I wasn't able to spend that much time with them, due to my work schedule. But I was able to spend an entire Saturday with them up at the Griffith Observatory. The loved the area, and wished they had some time to hike up some of the trails. There is always next time. It was great to see them again! I haven't sbeen able to visit with many of my HS friends, since I moved out here. Life! Thank goodness for email and the internet.

Photography

It's been awhile since I've blogged...guess my life isn't as exciting, as I think it is. This blog entry is to remind that I need to get of my lazy butt and practice my photography. Practice makes perfect! How am I suppose to get better, if I don't practice. Here are some pictures I shot awhile ago.

Pictures of You

"Photography... catching a moment in passing..." so this weekend I decided to grab my digital SLR, drive around in my car, and shoot - basically anything that catches my eye. I love Photography - ever since I've took a 35mm Photography class in High school and again in College. And today was the perfect day to get back into my beloved hobby. By all means though, I'm not a pro. Still an amateur, but determined to become better. Right now, I own a Nikon D40x. Hopefully sometime in the near future I can upgrade to a better one. Ok, I'll admit I do have my eye on the D300. Of course, the D40x at the moment is sufficient, but I'm sure my skills will eventually surpass my current model. Lots of practice and with some photography classes, it definitely will. And since I'm always on the lookout to practice my photography skills, tell me about good areas to shoot. Oh, below are two pictures from Saturday. Not bad for my first day taking pictures!
